Detention 100 Problems Chapter 3 Test Review Sheet
Below are papers that I have gathered while I was student Teaching. It is just a bunch of nick knacks that I have accumulated. Beside each item I have put in an explanation regarding the item. I'm sure that many of the teachers can relate to all the paperwork that goes on in teaching!!
In School Detention Slip (ISD)
Would you believe me if I said that I have sent 2 students to detention? Well it's true. I had no choice. I do feel that now I am more capable of handling behavior problems without sending a student to detention. The students goes to in-school detention for just that class period. It's a type of time-out. I think it is a good idea but I do feel some teachers abuse it.
Above is a hall pass. It is amazing how quickly one of these sheets can fill up. In about 4 school days this sheet is filled UP!!! Some student always has some place that he or she would rather be. I guess I would feel the same way to, if I were in their shoes. I probably felt that way at times, while I was in school.
At the right I have inserted a Tardy/Cut slip. After first period every day teachers receive a sheet with the names of the students who are absent for the day. So if a student is not on the list, but he or she is not in your class, then you need to fill this sheet out which states that the student is cutting your particular class. I had a lot of trouble trying to remember to check role every period. I guess eventually everything becomes natural. Like breathing. You start doing things with out even thinking. I'm still not quite sure if that's good or bad.
I had an unfortunate situation, while I was doing my student teaching. A calculator had gotten stolen. Well we were unable to locate a calculator. I still feel so bad about it. It's just that I would never have imagined. I seemed to forget that some people do steal, cheat and lie. Ever since that incident I have been very careful of school property and my own belongings. I was kind of hurt after the incident. I am still not sure why, but I just felt bad. I hope things like that don't happen too often.
Below is a worksheet that I had made as a review sheet for the students. Many of them had trouble solving 1-step and 2-step equations. I made a lot of work for myself.
I had made 3 versions for a test. Even I could not tell them apart. I realized that I was making so much work for myself that I was drowning in my own paperwork. It's very difficult to understand the amount of paper work when you are a student teacher.
I had also made a worksheet for the students to review for the test. There must be an easier way. I am very particular about grading work, if I can assign work then I should also be able to grade it. I understand how it is when a teacher asks you to do something and never gives you a grade for it. That bothers me so much. Even while I was in college I hated when that happened.
